66. edycja Grammy Awards odbyła się 4 lutego w Crypto.com Arena w Los Angeles. Muzyczne Oscary po raz czwarty z rzędu poprowadził Trevor Noah, pochodzący z RPA komik i aktor, znany z "The Daily Show".

 

 

W tym roku zdominowany przez kobiety konkurs dawał najwięcej szans takim gwiazdom, jak m.in. SZA (9 nominacji), Phoebe Bridgers, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Victoria Monet, trio Boygenius oraz Billie Eilish - w sumie statuetki zostały rozdane w aż 94 kategoriach.


Wśród nominowanych w najważniejszych kategoriach (m.in. najlepszy album roku, nagranie roku czy piosenka roku) znalazł się tylko jeden mężczyzna - 37-letni Jon Batiste. Ponadto Batiste był jedynym męskim wykonawcą, który zdobył sześć lub więcej nominacji.


2-letnia Hazel, córka Victorii Monét, stała się najmłodszą nominowaną w historii Grammy - pojawiła się w piosence "Hollywood" swojej matki.

Nagrodę za działalność filantropijną - Człowieka Roku MusiCares 2024 - otrzymał Jon Bon Jovi.

Podczas gali na żywo wystąpili m.in. Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott, Burna Boy, Billy Joel (pojawił się pierwszy raz po 22-letniej przerwie z premierową piosenką "Turn the Lights Back On"), Joni Mitchell (debiut ikony folku na Grammy), SZA i Miley Cyrus oraz grupa U2 (występ z kuli Sphere w Las Vegas w ramach rezydentury w tym miejscu).

Ostatecznie królową wieczoru została Phoebe Bridgers (wokalistka występuje również w żeńskiej supergrupie Boygenius), która zdobyła cztery statuetki. Po trzy nagrody zgarnęli Boygenius, SZA, Victoria Monet oraz Killer Mike (w rapowych kategoriach).

Dwie statuetki trafiły do Chrisa Stapletona, Lecrae, Jason Isbell i Paramore z nagrodą wyszli tego wieczoru także członkowie zespołu Metallica, Lainey Wilson, Shakti oraz Kylie Minogue.

Sporą niespodzianką była obecność na gali dawno niewidzianej Celine Dion - nieuleczalnie chora gwiazda wręczyła wręczyła nagrodę za album roku. Nagrodzona Taylor Swift (za "Midnights") stała się pierwszą w historii artystką, która po raz czwarty została wyróżniona właśnie w tej kategorii. Najlepszy Album Popowy- to także wyróżnienie dla Taylor.

Przy okazji Swift zdradziła utrzymywany przez dwa lata sekret - wydanie 19 kwietnia najnowszego albumu "The Tortured Poet's Departmant". 

Za najlepsze nagranie roku uznano "Flowers" Miley Cyrus. Na piosenkę roku wybrano zaś "What Was I Made For?" Billie Eilish z filmu "Barbie".

 

48-letni raper, Killer Mike zgarnął trzy statuetki! "Nie daj sobie wmówić, że jesteś za stary i że już za późno!" — mówił przejęty.

 

Ale Killer Mike został zatrzymany podczas ceremonii rozdania nagród Grammy w Los Angeles. Nastąpiło to w kilka godzin pod po tym, jak uhonorowano go trzema statuetkami. Rzecznik policji poinformował, że zatrzymanie rapera i aktywisty społecznego miało miejsce w następstwie sprzeczki około godziny 16.00 miejscowego czasu. Został on aresztowany za wykroczenie.

 

"W wieku 20 lat pomyślałem, że fajnie jest być handlarzem narkotyków. W wieku 40 lat zacząłem żyć żałując tego, co zrobiłem. W wieku 45 lat zacząłem o tym rapować. W wieku 48 lat stoję tutaj jako człowiek pełen empatii i współczucia z powodu tego, co zrobiłem" – mówił wcześniej Killer Mike.
