W 65-letniej historii listy Billboard Hot 100 na liście Billboard Hot 100 znalazło się ponad 30 000 piosenek. Spośród nich 1157 zajęło pierwsze miejsce (według wykresu z 21 października 2023 r.) – co stanowi 3,8% całości
Być może jednym z najrzadszych a zarazem największych osiągnięć jest powtórzenie swojej obecności na pierwszym miejscu listy przebojów Hot 100, a co dopiero dokonując tego co najmniej 10 razy. Tylko 10 artystów w historii zasłużyło na to wyróżnienie !!!
Na elitarnej liście znalazło się ośmiu artystów solowych i dwie grupy. The Beatles przewodzą wśród wszystkich zespołów, mając aż 20 piosenek na pierwszych miejscach list przebojów – najwięcej od 1965 roku, kiedy wyprzedzili Elvisa Presleya.
Presley, którego wyraźnie nie ma na poniższej liście, zdobył siedem razy pierwsze miejsce w erze Hot 100. Początek kariery Presleya poprzedzał notowania Hot 100, które ukazały się 4 sierpnia 1958 r., co oznacza, że niektóre z jego klasyków, takie jak „Don't Be Cruel”, „Hound Dog” i „Jailhouse Rock”, nigdy nie pojawiły się na liście przebojów.
Udało mu się jednak dotrzeć na szczyt z „A Big Hunk O' Love”, „Stuck on You”, „It's Now or Never”, „Are You Lonesome Tonight”, „Surrender”, „Good Luck Charm” i „Suspicious Minds”.
Jeśli chodzi o artystów znajdujących się poza klubem 10 hitów numer 1: Bee Gees, Elton John, Katy Perry, Paul McCartney (solowo i ze Wings), Taylor Swift i Usher dziewięć razy trafiali na pierwsze miejsca zestawienia Hot 100, podczas gdy Beyoncé (z wyłączeniem jej obecności w Destiny's Child's), Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, George Michael (z wyjątkiem dwóch zdobytych przez Wham!) i The Rolling Stones - mają po osiem.
